“When you jump into one of Win Blevins’s Wild Rivers West novels, you’ll jump bareback on a half-broke Indian cayuse, the wind whipping across your face, as you are carried to distant places, without stop, until the last page.” —Terry Johnston, author of Cry the Hawk
Win Blevins is a NYTimes bestselling author.
THE YELLOWSTONE
Hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “an adventurer’s story told as never before,” this is the saga of a man compelled by the dark, delicious grasp of a river to carve out a home in America’s most awe-inspiring backcountry.
Native Americans, the first few white people who dared to explore the West, and the settlers who followed all, braved a glorious and treacherous wilderness to stake their lives on the bounty of the great rivers charging out of the Rocky Mountains.
Mac Maclean, finds his destiny high in the headwaters of the Yellowstone—the swift river of life, death, and dreams—that rumbles through two majestic waterfalls and charges across the vast plains of Montana.
Venturing into uncharted territory, he creates a life fully his own. And he has no idea that future generations will honor his memory and build on the life he created on the banks of the river he called home.
THE POWDER RIVER
The adventure unfolds during the dramatic journey of the determined Cheyenne Native Americans from Indian Territory back to their Montana homeland and the mighty Powder River. “Win Blevins, that master yarn-spinner, has done it again with this tale of the Cheyenne’s struggles, love, and quest to go home.”—Tony Hillerman
The northern Cheyenne still call the Powder River country their sacred home. But, held captive far to the south in so-called Indian Territory, the remnants of this once-mighty nation are growing weak. To survive, they must battle their way across fifteen hundred miles to their ancestral home, fending off pursuit by thousands of well-armed soldiers.
THE SNAKE RIVER
A son of Ireland embarks on the adventure of a lifetime in this tale of men and women bold enough to take on one of the wildest rivers in the West. “Win Blevins’s stories are free-spirited tales of mountain men and Native Americans searching for new homes. Told with bawdy humor, action, romance, and a good measure of the unexpected.” —Elmer Kelton
In the 19th century, those who followed the treacherous, sidewinding course of the Snake River were carried to some of the most beautiful country on earth the untouched Pacific Northwest.
Flare O’Flaherty—mountain trapper and gambler—sets out on an incredible journey when he agrees to lead a group of missionaries downriver to the remote headquarters of the mighty Hudson’s Bay Company.
There he faces the greatest challenge of a wandering man’s lifetime—an extraordinary woman who teaches Indian children. He also meets a young Shoshone in search of the white father he never knew. Together they find their destiny along the mighty river that bears the shape of a serpent and holds the promise of home.
THE HIGH MISSOURI
“BREATHINGTAKING STORY!”— Booklist. A spiritual quest turns into a frontier adventure.
Dylan, a would-be priest, explores America’s Northern rivers and mountains. On his journey, a beautiful woman teaches him about love, lust, and betrayal. And a strange, white-bearded enemy instructs him about fate in this quest toward the legendary High Missouri River.
Dylan learns what it means to brawl, scratch, and struggle—for his life and for his soul.

Wild Rivers West Adventure Series Books 1 4 edition by Win Blevins Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Fantasy intertwined with reality and spirtuality. The reader is drawn into the depths of heaven and hell on earth. Grear!
The first book of this series was great. Second book was less and down from there.. The writer tried\ to stretch a story into a long, long boring tales.there were parts that were even great but overall two long and boring. I had to make myself finish the last two.
This was a interesting reading... I enjoyed reading it.. I would recommend reading this book.. Reading history and learning how things were..
Another Blevins series! Being taken back to these earlier days of wilderness and raw adventures in almost like really being there in person. What an amazing adventure.
Really enjoyed these books, great historical information learn things about the Indians I didn't know before lots of action and great stories.
All these books together on my is such a bonus !
More than fictionalized American history, which I love; these books are fast-moving adventures in precedent-setting times. Real Adventure. Man vs. Man, Man vs. Nature, Man vs. Himself. It's all there. And the theme of rivers.... think about it.
Blevins' writing style is so smooth and what he's done with the stories is not accidental. He carefully crafts worlds with words. Try one.
If you love the heady mix of Americans who first came West--with Native Americans and mountain men and French trappers living and working together, and sometimes fighting together, this is the book for you. The language is rich, and stereotypes are broken. Adventure is everywhere.
